Today\u00a0Ladur\u00e9e Georgetown opens to the delight of the lovers of all things French. I recently had the opportunity to take a sneak peek of the perfectly instagrammable patisserie. As you enter the narrow tea room, you’re immediately transported to Paris with its intricate detailing, glass chandeliers, and brightly colored macarons.<\/p>\n Located in the heart of M Street alongside many of the luxury shops in the area, it’s the perfect place for a shopping break. I expect Ladur\u00e9e Georgetown to be the gathering area for the well heeled ladies (and some gents) of DC searching for a bit of French nostalgia. The space has a seating area where you can have breakfast, brunch, or tea service. Don’t want to wait for a table? You can also take your pastries to go.<\/p>\n I will preface by saying that I am not a macaron fan, they are a bit too sweet for my taste. However, I can have more than one of the Laduree passion fruit macarons! When I think of\u00a0Ladur\u00e9e, I immediately think of sweets. Don’t be fooled by the pastels, there’s much more to indulge at Ladur\u00e9e Georgetown than the macarons that they are known for.\u00a0I was happy to see savory breakfast and brunch items. Some of the choices include: intricately plated avocado toast delicately topped with a poached egg and the organic chicken breast \u201cVol-au-vent\u201c with wild mushrooms. Their breakfast pastries are worth the trip to Georgetown. If you live in DC east of\u00a014St NW, Georgetown sometimes feels like a challenge with the lack of public transportation and impossible parking! The one pastry I will be returning for is the rose croissant filled with raspberry, cream, and rose. The merging of flavors is just beautiful. I cannot deny my love for carbs and\u00a0Laduree Georgetown is definitely an enabler…\u00a0 If you’re looking for a slice of Paris in Washington, DC,\u00a0Ladur\u00e9e Georgetown is the place for you. I was taken by the attention to detail of its Parisian decor, impeccable service, and the oh so decadent pastries. If you find yourself in Georgetown, you need to stop by. If you’re too lazy like me to to to Georgetown, the croissant is definitely a motivator!<\/p>\n<\/a>
