Thanks for your comment – yes the article was focused specifically on glamping! I didn’t have a chance to visit some of the other towns on the Island but I look forward to doing so in the future.

Haha – well I guess I was thinking more along the lines that burgers in general are American fare! Glad you enjoyed the piece 🙂

True, with a focus on Glamping, there is only one new resort. There are other campgrounds on the island and one also has yurts. Acadia National Park covers the whole island. Each of the other towns have restaurants and many of the villages do as well. There restaurants have varied offerings from Mainely meat BBQ right next door to Atlantic Brewery in Town Hill to Mexican in Southwest Harbor to farm to table in Northest Harbor at The Burning Owl. The newest phenomenon is the pop up lunch trucks that offer delicious food such as Archie’s Lobster in Bass Harbor with panoramic views of the harbor. The author’s change of focus to include Bar Harbor leaves the a visitor with a limited view of the variety that Mount Desert Island offers to visitors of all ages and budgets.
